It was the long cherished desire of Bishop Thomas Menamparabil sdb to give a center for Franciscan Clarist sisters in his diocese. So in the year 1991 on August 11th we opened a house in Naojan under Dibrugarh diocese in the district of Golaghat. This is a boarder area of Nagaland and Assam. The first members of the house were Sr. Merlin (Superior), Sr. Salomy, Sr. Annie Lisieux and Sr. Rosmi. 

The sisters are engaged in the education, healing ministry, catechetical work, evangelization, family visits and social Service activities. It is a full pledged parish with many catholic villages. The people belong to different tribes such as Adivasis, Garo and Boros. The catholic villages are far away and the sisters used tour in the villages spreading the message of love to all. The first FCC sister from this parish Sr.Jorjet professed in the year 2008. At present there is a high school and we have a boarding where we accommodate only catholic girls so that they can grow strong in their faith. The children who are poor are given help from the diocese and the parish.
